Weapons originating from China, Russia, Europe and even the UK, through licensed transfers, have found their way into these conflict zones.

The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade—responsible for the forced removal of 15–20 million Africans—left deep scars still felt today. Under King Leopold II, the Congo Free State witnessed the deaths of an estimated 10–15 million people through forced labour and systemic violence. More recent tragedies, from the Rwandan Genocide to ongoing civil wars in Sudan, Angola, Somalia and the DRC, continue to shape humanitarian realities.
